Trading remains slow in the new currency options contracts on the Marché à Terme International de France (Matif), which the exchange launched at the end of last month (FX Week, May 30). Volume in the dollar/mark contract has been varying between about 1,400 and 3,000 contracts per day, dropping as low as 25 contracts per day, while the dollar/Paris contract has ranged from a low of seven contracts on 27 May to the latest high of some 2,000 contracts on June 7, according to exchange figures.
