e-Mid delays US launch

TECHNOLOGY NEWS

MILAN -- e-Mid, a provider of electronic markets for treasury products, has delayed its launch in the US. The firm gained clearance from the US Federal Reserve to expand into the US deposit market last year (FX Week, October 8) but the launch was put on hold following the September 11 attacks, said Vincenzo Mioccio, general manager at e-Mid in Milan. "Because of the fragile market situation after September 11, it was not the best time to try and get into a new market," Mioccio told FX Week.
