ABN Amro reports a 48 per cent increase in foreign exchange trading income to FI369 million for the first half-year of 1996 from FI249 million a year ago.

Officials say the securities, foreign exchange and derivatives trading desks realized vigorous growth compared to the difficult first half of 1995.

Credit Suisse reports a 12 per cent increase in trading income from foreign exchange and precious metals to Sfr527 million for the first half of 1996 from Sfr470 million a year ago.
