Lloyds Bank Shuts N.Y. Treasury After Wave Of Restructurings

Lloyds Bank closed its New York treasury operation on March 1 and shifted its remaining foreign exchange business to London, officials confirm. The decision comes less than a year after the bank began its first of at least two rounds of lay-offs aimed at the New York trading operation, as Lloyds decided to focus its efforts there on sales (FXW, Feb. 27, 1995 and July 10).
