Continental To Trade More Crosses Adds Institutional Desk In Chicago

In an attempt to increase profitability and provide better service to its corporate and institutional clients, Chicago-based Continental Bank has opened an institutional desk and plans to pump up its cross-currency activity in January, sources at the bank say.

"I think management thought there may have been some missed opportunities. It’s one thing to be making prices, it’s another to be running active books in the European crosses," says one spot trader at the bank.
