Spot traders in demand

LONDON – Spot FX traders are finally in demand, after years of job insecurity sparked by banks cutting back in response to mergers, e-FX and the euro.

Recruitment sources in London and New York told FX Week banks have recently poached staff to fill a shortfall created by having pared back too much in leaner times. And as other banks are also operating with the bare minimum of traders, any defections can easily cause a ripple of demand, they said.
