Extended Trading Hours In Tokyo Focus On Dollar/Yen Transactions

The extension of foreign exchange trading hours in Tokyo in late December has not yet been fully supported by the banks that lobbied for it, sources in the Far East claim. The additional hour and a half of trading -- which previously halted for lunch from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. (Tokyo time) was added in efforts to boost the lagging volumes in the centre.
