How to make yen gains amid intervention fears

Background: In the three weeks through to June 11, there was a marked pick-up in the pace of foreign investment into Japanese equities. Unsurprisingly, the yen has begun to rise again against the dollar and the Nikkei has headed steadily higher.

What is significant about this increase in the pace of inflows is that it occurred in an environment where interest rate expectations in the US were once again on the rise. This would seem to support the argument that investors are now fully acclimatised
