James Bindler, Citi's global head of G10 FX, is set to retire from the business after 34 years to pursue academic ambitions.

Bindler, who was appointed to the role in 2014, spent 21 years at the US bank overall. He began his career at Midland Bank in New York in 1982, before joining Citi in 1990.

He relocated to London in 2000 and has been a member of the Bank of England's Foreign Exchange Committee since 2008. Since 2015, he has been part of the Bank for International Settlements' foreign
