Way out: 2015 sees raft of departures

The year 2015 continued to see senior foreign exchange people leaving investment banking altogether or seeking out opportunities on the buy side. But while the raft of departures in 2014 was largely the consequence of increasing regulatory and public attention on the currency trading space, the exodus from banks this year reflects the sell side's waning appetite for chasing volumes and its consequences such as higher capital costs and deep structural shifts in the market.
