Thirlwall quits HSBC to rejoin Barclays

He returns after four years

Paul Thirlwall has quit his four-year role as a foreign exchange options trader at HSBC to return to Barclays, a source has told FX Week. It is understood that he will run the FX options desk in London.

Thirlwall joined HSBC from Barclays in September 2011, as global head of exotic options, with key responsibilities in global exotic portfolio risk management.

During his first stint at Barclays, Thirlwall was a director and head of FX short-dated exotics trading, responsible for G10 exotic
