Paul Thirlwall quits BarCap for HSBC

Barclays Capital building in Canary Wharf

Paul Thirlwall, director and head of foreign exchange short-dated exotics trading at Barclays Capital, has left the bank in London and will join HSBC.

It is understood Thirlwall will start in September as global head of exotic FX options at HSBC, with key responsibilities in global exotic portfolio risk management.

At Barclays Capital, Thirlwall was responsible for G-10 exotics and reported locally to Ed Falinski, managing director and head of long-dated and short-dated FX options.
