Thain to stay after BoA merger

Bank of America (BoA) has appointed John Thain to be president of global banking, securities and wealth management when the bank merges with Merrill Lynch.

The American bank's global corporate and investment banking (GCIB), and global wealth and investment management departments are set to be merged with its counterparts at Merrill Lynch, and Thain will be responsible for the new entity.
