Major rejig at Merrill desk in NY

Gregg Chow, who managed sales to pension funds, mutual funds and commodity trading advisers in New York, has left, as has Guillaume Nicole, who worked on the emerging markets bond desk. Both previously worked under Michael DeSa, former co-head of global FX and rates, who was replaced by ex-Morgan Stanley FX chief Stephen Kemp last year (FX Week, April 26, 2004).

The bank declined to comment on the departures, but Nicole is tipped to join a hedge fund.
