CME continues growth in July

The CME recorded an average daily notional value of $87.1 billion in currency futures based on 621,370 contracts. This represents a 16.5% rise in volume from July last year. The average daily notional value of options on futures was $3 billion, based on 18,977 contracts, up 29% from July 2007. Average daily notional value for electronically traded options rose to $2 billion, a 75% rise over the same period last year, reaching 12,110 contracts.

The euro stayed in the lead as the most traded
