CME sets new volume record

Average daily volume for FX contracts last month reached 655,000, a 42% increase on the same period last year.

Electronic FX also drew in record volumes during the month, with an average 590,000 contracts traded each day, representing a 56% year-on-year increase.

Total interest-rate product volumes on the CME broke previous records, increasing by 34% on the same period last year to average 4.2 million contracts.

The rise came from strong growth in electronic volume in CME eurodollar options
