Chicago Mercantile Exchange sets FX volume record

The volume is up 20% on the previous record set in these products of $9.13 billion on May 15 last year.

FX options traded electronically on CME Globex rose 35.8% to a nominal value of $8.16 billion. This surpassed the previous record of $5.24 billion set on January 22.

Electronically traded futures and options in the euro combined to reach a total nominal value of $81.99 billion. This is up 4.6% on the previous high of $78.22 billion set on January 22.
