Hungarian riots fail to dent market

The rioting on Monday and Tuesday last week caused the forint to fall from 270 to the euro to 274 before regaining most of its strength. Gabor Butor, head of FX trading at Reifeissen bank in Budapest, pointed to activity from a number of sources that drove the volatility. "There was a lot of activity from the big London real-money players as well as plenty of speculative flow."
