City salaries follow firm upward growth pattern

The rise for senior managers to an average of £76,750 from £70,299 in September last year also demonstrated a monthly increment of 8.6% over August 2005.

The report found that average City salaries have followed a firm pattern of upward growth over the past year, increasing 7% to £50,836 in September 2005, compared with an average of £47,483 in September 2004.

Average salaries in September were up 5.2% from £48,336 in August 2005.

Middle-market salaries remained somewhat constant, rising slightly
