It is understood that Gillespie will be taking on a sales role in London and will report locally to Xavier Alexandre, head of Europe and Asia sales.
Gillespie was one of four staff released by IFX last August, after spread-betting firm City Index bought the company. He had been in the post for less than a year, having been promoted after Steve Pryor defected to BGC International with a team of seven staff in December 2005.
