Globex's Future Looks Uncertain After Matif's Decision To Pull Out

French futures exchange, Matif, plans to pull out of Globex, the Reuters-operated after hours electronic trading system, when its contract expires next year, officials say. The exchange will instead adopt the Nouveau Systeme de Cotation (NSC) electronic trading system, developed and used by the SBF-Paris Bourse, when its contract linking itself, Reuters and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) ends in April 1998, say officials.
