The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) reports trading in its currency products surged 44 per cent in August, compared to July levels.
Total currency futures volume was 1,841,788 contracts in August, up from the 1,286,705 reported in July , but this was down by 24 per cent compared to year-ago levels, when 2,434,232 contracts traded hands, officials say.
