Merrill Lynch continues FX drive with key hires

NEW YORK -- Merrill Lynch has made three key FX hires in New York and Tokyo, combating rumours that a recent exodus of dealers had left the bank’s foreign exchange business understaffed.

In New York, senior interest rate trader David Hoffman joined two weeks ago from Deutsche Bank, where he had been head of FX forwards. And Robert Bogucki starts at the bank’s New York centre today (February 11) as an FX options trader. He comes from Morgan Stanley, where he held a similar role. In Tokyo, William
