ABN Amro reports revenue from foreign exchange dealing in the first half of 1999 was €259 million ($268 million). This represents an 8.2 per cent drop from 1998's first half figure of €282 million ($309 million).
Oslo-based Den Norske Bank reports net gain on foreign exchange and financial instruments of NOK516 million ($66 million) in the first half of 1999. This represents an increase of 68 per cent on last year's figure of NOK307 million ($40 million).
