Prat-Gay still waiting on Argentine senate vote

BUENOS AIRES – JP Morgan’s global head of FX strategy Alfonso Prat-Gay is still waiting for the Argentine senate to ratify him as vice-president of the nation’s central bank.

Prat-Gay, who is presently based in London, was named as vice-president by Argentine president Fernando de la Rua in May, but the vote to ratify him has not yet taken place.

In the meantime, Roque Maccarone has been confirmed by the senate as the bank’s president, following the sacking of ex-president Pedro Pou, who was axed
