Cantor Fitzgerald To Operate Mark/Yen Desk Out Of New York

Cantor Fitzgerald, one of the largest U.S. government securities brokers, is starting a Deutsche mark/yen desk in New York, which should be operative in the next two to four weeks, sources say. The interdealer brokerage has been staffing up for several months, and now has six brokers on the desk.
Five of them are new hires, except for one broker who switched over from the firm's spot yen desk, sources say. The desk will be run by Anthony Contarino, who has been at Cantor now for the past few
