SocGen Hires WestPac's Carr To Beef Up London Spot Desk

Société Générale in London is expanding its foreign exchange operation in London, particularly on the spot side, according to bank officials. The bank's new treasury and capital markets director, Mike Beales, hired Martin Carr, formerly a senior dealer on the spot desk at WestPac in London, as its new chief dealer late last month, as the first of what is likely to be a series of new hires. Beales, formerly treasury director at WestPac, joined SocGen in April (FX Week, May 3).
