Rival banks scoop Merrill Lynch defectors

Morgan Stanley has hired ex-Merrill Lynch employee Mark de Wild Propitius to run its long-dated foreign exchange books in London.

At Merrill Lynch, Propitius worked as a senior foreign exchange options trader in London, before reputedly leaving the bank in June (FX Week, June 23). He originally joined Merrill Lynch in December 2001.

Meanwhile, fellow Merrill Lynch employee Uri Stramer is believed to have been hired by Barclays Capital to head its G-10 long-dated FX options business in London.
