Citibank Takes Over Helm In London; While NatWest Takes Cable Trading

FX WEEK/SYNTEGRA AWARDS

Citibank displaced last year's winner, the former Chemical Bank, as the number one bank in the London marketplace, according to polling in the FX Week/Syntegra Best Banks in FX Awards for 1997. The new Chase Manhattan Bank was in third place, while NatWest, which scooped best bank in cable and sterling/mark, moved up to second place behind Citi.

Citibank was also voted as the best bank overall, best in spot interbank dealing and best bank in New York, among several other categories. Martin Dyer
