FX Week Poll Shows European FX Traders Believe EMU Will Come

FX WEEK/SYNTEGRA AWARDS

A majority of European FX traders, bank treasurers and chief dealers believe European Monetary Union will happen and over 40 per cent responding to an FX Week survey say they have a strategy for the single European currency and have estimated the costs of conversion (see related article, this issue).

The 43 per cent figure for institutions which are already gearing up for EMU is much higher than the 10 per cent who recently told the Futures & Options Association that they have made pricing
