Bear wins wronged FX investor appeal

NEW YORK -- US investment bank Bear Stearns last week won an appeal against a $164.5 million payout to a currency investor who alleged the firm had not warned him of the risks of forex futures trading.

The US second-circuit court of appeals in New York dismissed the lawsuit filed by Canadian investor Henryk De Kwiatkowski, which claimed the bank had acted with negligence after he lost more than $200 million in 1994 from currency contracts investments.

He alleged that the firm had not offered him
