Postipankki Winds Down Singapore Treasury Unit After Just Four Years

Postipankki, the Finnish state-owned commercial bank, is winding down its Singapore treasury operation after just four years in operation, sources say. The operation is currently operating with a skeleton crew and will cease all trading functions by February, sources say.

Charles Wheeler, who transferred to Singapore in August 1993 to build the treasury unit (FXW, June 21, 1993), will be employed by the bank until May, and sources say he plans to remain in Asia. He has been with Postipankki for
