Chase Manhattan Bank and Chemical Bank in New York will merge their trading operations as of March 1, but the combined group of some 900 traders will be divided between their two trading floors.

Treasury, capital markets and structured derivatives will be based at Chemical, while vanilla derivatives, FX and emerging markets will be at Chase, say officials.
