Finex says the first six months of 1996 was a record volume period for its currency complex with average daily contract volume more than doubling to 2,094 from 1,024 for the corresponding period of 1995.

The exchange also announced that the dollar value of the currency contracts traded was a record $34.7 billion for the first half of 1996 compared to $19.1 billion for first-half 1995.
