FX volumes rise, but UK loses year-on-year

North America is booming, but the UK performs worse than in April 2015

Foreign exchange volumes have inched higher in most major trading centres, except for the UK, where turnover fell, compared with figures achieved a year ago, according to the biannual survey of activity in the currency markets by major central banks.

Figures from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Foreign Exchange Committee (FXC) survey show North America experienced a 10% increase in average daily volumes (ADV) of over-the-counter instruments since October 2015.
