Bloomberg Sef sees $60 billion worth of FX trades in first year

It lags behind rivals Tradition, GFI, BGC, Icap and Tullett Prebon

Bloomberg's swap execution facility (Sef) has executed 11,000 FX transactions in its first 12 months of existence, totalling a notional value of $59.78 billion, according to figures released by the firm.

These numbers are dwarfed by the value of trades in other asset classes executed on Bloomberg's Sef – $3.15 trillion for interest rate swaps and $3.45 trillion for credit default swaps – reflecting its failure to keep pace with rival Sefs in the FX space.
