ECB speculation provides welcome diversion for investors

Forex investors are growing weary of speculating on the timing of the tapering of quantitative easing in the US, and are shifting their focus to alternative themes, prompting some movement in an otherwise quiet G-10 market, according to traders at HSBC.

"In G-10, people lack clarity, but does that mean they just do nothing and wait for tapering to start? It could be six months before the Fed does anything. So people are moving onto other themes," says Paul Thirlwall, global head of exotic FX
