Robinson was appointed chief sterling strategist at BarCap six weeks ago. He told FX Week that BarCap's sterling view had been too closely aligned to the euro/sterling pair and was predicting sterling would depreciate more against the euro, which Robinson said is unlikely. He said the bank needed to make sterling roughly flat against the euro and acknowledge the softening dollar in the cable pair.
