Bullish dollar view wins out

Peter Luxton, global markets adviser at Informa Global Markets in London, said its bullish stance came as interest rate themes began to play a more prominent role in FX markets.

Until recently, he said, the Fed rate rises had failed to make any significant dents in the dollar. "But the combination of a strengthening greenback versus weaker data in mainland Europe and Japan eventually started to make its presence felt," explained Luxton. He said this had already seen the European Central Bank
