Steve McMillan, GFI’s senior managing director, Europe in London said: "Currency basket volatility is very efficient for hedging currency fluctuations over a range of currencies."
He added that the firm expects the tenors to increase and to extend to other emerging market currencies.
The broker declined to provide further details of the deal.
