StanChart up as US weakness spreads

Callum Henderson, head of foreign exchange strategy and global research at StanChart in Singapore, said the bank had expected the dollar to weaken in the first half of the year and then regain ground in the second. "The reason behind this was economic rotation, where a US problem and US economic weakness becomes a global problem," he said.

For one-month forecasts, the bank uses a combination of fundamentals, flows and technical indicators, with a particular emphasis on market indicators.
