Rabobank keeps short-term faith in USD

Rabobank rose to the top of the 12-month currency forecast rankings this week with a strong dollar view based on an expectation that the US would be first out of the slowdown in global growth.

"Having seen the US move into the downturn first, we expected it to be a beneficiary of initial global recovery," said Jeremy Stretch, head of foreign exchange strategy at Rabobank in London. "This is also with the US Federal Reserve being relatively more reactive."
