The changing face of liquidity

Liquidity channels such as EBS, Reuters D2 and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) all now provide APIs with full auto-trading capabilities to spot trading desks. While only a few banks are currently using these services, this situation looks set to change in the near future.

Spot traders have traditionally made use of EBS and Reuters D2 terminals for interbank liquidity, while many banks are now also using the CME as a third spot liquidity source. All three of these liquidity channels – EBS
