Electronic brokers reach new highs
Daily volume on Icap-owned spot-broking platform, EBS Spot reached $456 billion on Thursday August 16, breaking the previous record of $311 billion on July 27. This was followed by a new second-highest trading day on Friday, August 17, when $411.38 billion was traded. Average daily volumes on EBS have remained at about $250 billion.
A spokesperson for EBS in London said spreads remained tight and that no price gapping occurred, even at the times of highest volatility.
