Rand record for CME

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) posted a record trading day on rand futures contracts on March 13, with 1,206 traded at a notional value of $75.858 million. The previous record was 972 contracts on September 12, 2007, with a notional value of $67.65 million. The average daily volume of contracts was 55, with a notional value of $3.53 million.

The figure comes shortly after the CME experienced a record trading day in Mexican peso futures on March 6, with a notional $4.2
