Icap and CME post strong FX gains

Icap's average daily electronic broking volumes on spot FX platform EBS reached a record high of $244.6 billion last month. This is a 61% rise from $151.5 billion in November 2006 and surpasses the record of $241.5 billion a day reached in August.

Icap attributed the e-broking gains to heightened market activity in November. "Electronic broking volumes continue to increase as market volatility persists, driven by credit issues and their impact on the global economy," a spokesperson at the broker
