Forex volumes on CME up in May

In monthly results released June 2, the exchange said total volumes reached 13,048,017 contracts at a notional value of $1.85 trillion.

Futures contracts recorded an average daily volume (ADV) of 598,552 contracts, worth a notional of more than $84 billion. This was up 29% over the same period in 2007.

The ADV in options on futures was 22,782 contracts at a notional value of about $3.8 billion. This was up 30% and 62% respectively on May 2007 figures. Of that, electronically traded options
