About 100 traders on the foreign exchange and money markets trading floors at Merrill Lynch's Ropemaker Place office in London are using the Newsedge real-time news and information feed from Desktop Data, according to sources within Merrill Lynch. The number of traders using Newsedge will grow to about 140 over time, add the sources.
Merrill Lynch recently announced that it will be deploying Newsedge for 25,000 trading and non-trading positions world-wide. The system replaces Reuters' Monitor
