Healthy M&A Activity Good For FX

LONDON--The currency markets should continue to benefit from sustained global merger and acquisitions activity, according to the latest report on M&A cashflows, from US investment bank JP Morgan.

Global announced cross-border M&A was $38.8 billion in September, according to the Morgan report--just down from $39.9 billion in August.

The healthy level of M&A activity is good news for the currency markets in terms of driving volumes of foreign exchange transactions, says Bilal Hafeez, FX strategist
