Canadian Banks FX Results Mixed With Good Q4s, Variable Annuals

Foreign exchange earnings were mixed for 1995 at the three Canadian banks that have reported so far. While Bank of Montreal, Toronto Dominion Bank and Bank of Nova Scotia have all had a good fourth quarter in the November 1-to-October 31 Canadian fiscal year on the back of the volatile run-up to the Quebec referendum, not all have ended the year ahead of 1994's results. Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Royal Bank of Canada and National Bank of Canada report this week.
